January Intensive With Holly Kostura

Yoga Cikitsā: The Practice of Healing through Yoga
Friday, January 13th; 1:00 – 4:00 PM
$55

Yoga brings health and happiness (sukha) to the body-mind and fosters contentment (santosha), a main ingredient of living with equanimity regardless of circumstances we may be experiencing inside or outside of us.

In this workshop we will practice the hallmarks of Iyengar Yoga (alignment, sequencing, timings, use of props/modifications to the postures) with the goal of gaining insight into how they unify to generate these deeply beneficial, “therapeutic” effects for common conditions (ie, knee, low back, hip, neck/shoulder).

All level students are welcome, including Beginners.  Teachers are encouraged to attend with their students.

Yoga, for Peace and Happiness
Friday, January 13 – 15
$180

“In the city of Brahman is a secret dwelling, the lotus of the heart. Within this dwelling is a space, and within that space is the fulfillment of our desires. What is within that space should be longed for and realized.” –The Chandogya Upanishad (translation by E. Easwaran)

Contained within each individual is a universal space that the ancient teachings proclaim is “to be longed for and realized.” The path of practice leads to this inner sanctuary containing an infinite source of inner peace (santosha) and happiness (sukha). In this workshop we’ll practice asana, pranayama and dhyana with the intention of using the many distinct parts of the body-mind to become situated in the one indivisible heart.
